Six worthy North Lake students were presented with Rotary Club of Booragoon endeavour scholarships at a dinner at Dome Deep Water Point on Tuesday 22 September.
Years 11s Augustine, Abby, Lilli, Pasit and Esther along with Charlie from Fremantle Fast Track were presented with certificates in recognition of their efforts during 2020. The monetary aspect of the scholarship will assist the students with their studies in 2021.
Each of the students made a thank you presentation to the gathering telling a little of their background, their North Lake experience and aspirations for the future. It was informative, inspiring, funny and surprising .
This year the Rotarians made another surprise presentation. North Lake’s Les Everett, who has coordinated the campus side of the event since 2007, was made a Paul Harris Fellow “… in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among people of the world.”
It was a night to remember for the students, their guests and Rotary Club of Booragoon members.
