Hamid is on track

The guest cook behind the BBQ at the pancake breakfast recently has been Year 12 Hamid.

Although he had a particular love of maths and science, Hamid was involved all aspects of campus life during his time at North Lake including a musical performance at the 2019 valedictory.

He is now studying electrical engineering at Murdoch University after achieving an ATAR of 89.

“I had a great time at North Lake,” Hamid told NLSC News, “They were the best years of my life.

“It was hard at the start when I was in the IEC and trying to understand English and again at the end getting ready for exams but really I enjoyed it all.”

One of the attributes Hamid displayed at North Lake was a willingness to discuss ideas and ‘argue’ with his teachers and class mates. “I haven’t really had the courage to discuss or argue with my lecturers at uni,” Hamid said. “Some of them are famous doctors so I’m keeping my head down – for now.”
