Hospitality Operations is a very successful program which offers you the opportunity to study six subjects directly related to your talents and interests in the hospitality industry, while working with a small team of caring, expert teachers in a supportive and positive environment. With opportunities for apprenticeships and traineeships often obtained through workplace learning, this program successfully taps into local industry providing a seamless transition from school to the workplace or further study at the end of Year 12.

North Lake’s Hospitality faculty is as far from the traditional home economics department as you can get and is ideally placed to cater for specialised industry learning …… so if you want a career in the hospitality industry, enrol and get ahead of the competition!

This program runs as a discrete combined group studying a variety of courses.

WACE requirement from 2015 onwards – a student is required to complete 20 units, of which 4 must be English. Eight VET or endorsed units can be used towards WACE and a Certificate II or better is required.


This program allows the student to achieve 16 units plus 8 VET or endorsed units (allowing a safety net of 4 units)

In addition students (if they meet the eligibility criteria) can apply for a School Based Traineeship or School Based Apprenticeship, where a student will spend two days a week in a paid part time position participating in on the job training in the Hospitality Industry.
