Maths teacher May surprises us regularly with her work outside the classroom, especially coaching the Australian Rules footy and soccer teams.
Last Wednesday night, she received a surprise. May was invited to the annual Ramadan dinner hosted by the West Australian Football Commission and was presented with the Bachar Houli Community Award for her outstanding contribution to the AFL Islamic community. “I certainly wasn’t expecting that,” May told North Lake News, “It was a great night and I was able to network with people from lots of other sports.”
