Looking the part for work

Anna Watters’ Year 11 Career & Enterprise Foundations class investigated the importance of personal presentation for the workplace and when interviewing or starting a new job.

Topics for discussion included hygiene, appropriate workplace attire, personal grooming, body language and building confidence.

Jill, the campus nurse, presented information about general personal hygiene, wearing an anti-perspirant deodorant and choosing natural fabrics for clothing suited to our Australian climate.

Students then practiced some personal presentation skills that are less common with younger people today – how to tie a necktie, how to polish and shine leather shoes and how to iron a shirt.

It was fun and informative.
