Exciting career ahead

• Kane at the 2021 North Lake Senior Campus Valedictory with Principal Gary Anderson.

Kane Brotherhood completed Year 12 at North Lake in 2021 and gained entry into the Metallurgical Engineering course at Curtin University.

It has been an exciting time for Kane with his studies taking him to Malaysia this year to work directly with the government on sustainable development.

He has received two scholarships, one with MRL (Mineral Resources Limited), a large mining company, and another with IMO, a metallurgical consulting company based in Kwinana.

Kane recently signed with MRL for two internships as well as a job as a graduate metallurgical engineer in 2025.

He is currently studying thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, principle process and upper chemistry. Kane will move to Kalgoorlie-Boulder in 2024 for two years as part of his degree and is excited about what lies ahead.

To support himself he has been tutoring Year 9-12 students through work at Ace Tutoring.

Kane said studying at North Lake was a challenging and enjoyable experience. “Thank you so much for the head start you provided for me in my future career.”
