Speed Dating Brings Book Love

Sharing the love of reading was the theme for our first Speed Dating with a Book event held late in term two.

Presenters had two minutes to tell their small audience about a favourite book or most recent read. At the sound of a bell participants moved to the next presenter.

So participants got to know a lot about quite a few books (and quite a bit about the presenters too).

Congratulations to all who took part in this hectic and fun-filled activity, especially Ravi and Tine for the organisation. Participants came away with a flyer created by Tine on each of the books they heard about during their dates.

The books are either in the library or coming soon.

They were…

Songs of a War Boy by Deng Thiak Adut

Capital by John Lanchester

Badness by Gary Jubelin

The Tree of Man by Patrick White

Poster Girl by Veronica Roth

Lonely Planet’s Where To Go When

The Hound of Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt

Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus
