Stand up hands up for reconciliation

With a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony from Aunty Freda and Narelle Ogilvie, music from Lachy John and a powerful student presentation led by Suhaila, Athen and Marta, North Lake recognised Reconciliation Week in style.

Stories and songs were shared and much was learned. All students contributed with respect and creativity.

Principal Gary Anderson summed up the event: “I think that the theme of from the heart was an outcome more than achieved. Of course the biggest outcome was our connection with our Aboriginal Community through Aunty Freda, Narelle and certainly Lachy.”
