Recycling, sustainability and cooperation are keys to modern living and a joint IT and Industrial Studies project is a great example of these concepts in action.
Year 11 Industrial Studies student Jade is building a coffee table video console using old furniture and an old computer. Her work with hand and power tools will include placing the button controls for players. It will be a see-through design allowing viewers to observe some of the inner workings.
When Jade’s work is finished Computer Science students will complete the wiring, load the motherboard and get the games to work.
The computer will be loaded with the multi-purpose emulation framework MAME 32 enabling it to run up to 90 retro video games.
