Powering into the future

We all know we need to reduce the use of fossil fuels and use renewable energy.

Students in both Integrated Science classes have spent time making solar cars using solar panels to power the vehicles.

The project included wiring up electrical cables between the motors and the solar panels. Students also spent time learning how to strip the ends of wires to make the electrical connections.

The speed of the cars varied from 0.2 m/s to 0.6 m/s and was measured with a PASCO motion sensor

Peam is shown connecting the wires up to his solar car,  Dylan and Sina with their complete cars.
