There was an extra element in the North Lake booth at this year’s Skills West Expo. We had the usual visits from current students and former students, some who went to North Lake Senior High School, and some who might be North Lake students in the future.
On Saturday, Tash gained lots of attention with her digital art and it was interesting to learn that her North Lake journey began at an expo at the Perth Convention Centre. Tash left her home town of Capel during Year 11 for the city and immediately felt lost at her new school. At her expo visit, she picked up some information about North Lake and liked the idea of it being a senior school. The move has been a great success. One of our visitors was the father of Ashley, who did IT at North Lake, and Matt, who did Industrial Studies. Their dad was keen to tell of their great success and North Lake’s place in it. Ashley’s IT skills took him to the Silicon Valley in the USA. Another visitor was Christine who said she had great memories of North Lake, especially Mike’s photography course that led to her first career.
