We were OK

North Lake’s RU OK? Day was celebrated a day earlier than the national day. And that’s ok because really every day should be an RU OK? day.

The emphasis was a little different to a traditional North Lake affair. There was the usual brilliant sausage sizzle and other food but crowd involvement was the key to the entertainment – we had singalongs and dancealongs: a staff choir; guitars, drums, a saxophone and a ukulele; a person in a Rolling Stones tee shirt singing a song by The Beatles; a drumming band, a handball competition; giveaways and advice from Act Belong Commit and lots of prizes and smiles.

Well done to the organisers, entertainers, volunteer workers, the roadies and, most importantly, those who turned up and took part.
