Heading underwater

The North Lake Tridents testing their ROV.

THE North Lake Tridents and North Lake Essentials were among 18 teams who took on the REA School Pathways Program SUBS in Schools Technology Challenge on campus in term four.

Each team built and tested a remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) over many hours in and out of the classroom during semester two.

On the day of the challenge the teams were judged on their marketing and trade display, a verbal presentation where they also answered questions about their design and finally a “sea” trial held in the North Lake pool.

The Tridents finished third in the ROV class of the WA state titles… a great achievement. Well done to Daniel, Joshua, Cameron, Huy and Sabri.

The Essentials dazzled with their pink ROV – great work Katrina, Fariba and Soheila.
