As an IEC HaSS sustainability project both 3.1 and 3.2 were asked to put their minds to creating a useful product from materials they have at home, promoting the principles or reducing, re-using and recycling, (along with other ‘Rs’).
Milky’s handbag with long strap was outstanding. Flattened plaited newspaper, cardboard, string, an old cloth/string backpack as the liner, fabric offcuts and teddy bear eyes as the fasteners, all produced a very authentic end product.
Milky has a goal to be a product designer… she is well on the way.
